This July, I had the absolute joy of photographing Lucy’s senior photo session in one of my favorite places—Chautauqua Park in Boulder, Colorado. We planned her session for golden hour, and the evening could not have been more perfect. The weather was warm but not too hot, the light was dreamy, and the Flatirons gave us the most iconic Colorado backdrop you could ask for.

Lucy showed up in the most stunning boho western-inspired outfit, complete with a flowy skirt that caught the light beautifully. She kicked off her shoes and twirled barefoot in the high grasses below the Flatirons. The golden sunlight wrapped around her, giving every image a soft, natural glow that perfectly reflected her carefree personality.

Just before sunset, we hopped in the car and made our way up to Lost Gulch Overlook. If you’ve ever been, you know how breathtaking it is—sweeping mountain views, layered ridgelines, and skies painted with every shade of pink and orange. Lucy posed effortlessly on the rocks, taking in the view while I captured those unforgettable senior portraits that will stand out as some of my favorites to date.

This Boulder senior session was the perfect blend of adventure, natural beauty, and personal style. By incorporating Colorado’s iconic landscapes into Lucy’s portraits, her gallery feels both timeless and true to her unique vibe.
